New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy proposed several measures Monday to strengthen the state’s gun laws, which are already among the strictest in the country. The governor, a Democrat, said he would work with the legislature and state attorney general’s office to pass several measures, including legislation blocking people who are barred from purchasing guns from purchasing ammunition. Mr. Murphy said he also wants a law that requires customers to show photo identification when purchasing ammunition.
