After Second Quarter Miss, Amazon Blows Through Q3 Estimates


After the market closed on October 26, Amazon did a wonderful job of making that look like a good call. According to Thomson Reuters, Amazon's was expected to report $42.14 billion in revenue, $4.51 billion in AWS revenue, and earnings of three cents a share. Total revenue came in about $1.4 billion above expectations, AWS revenue was $70 million more than forecast, and EPS was a whopping 49 cents ahead of expectations, according to CNBC. The bad news was that Amazon missed by a whopping $1.02 the $1.42 EPS expected by analysts according to Thomson Reuters. That report was not all bad though -- after all in the second quarter Amazon revenues soared 25% and beat expectations of $37.18 billion by $820 million, according to CNBC.
