African Development Bank has recommended elimination of all bilateral tariffs and keeping rules of origin transparent around intra-African trade to realize full benefits. Kenya signed the Africa Continental Free Trade Area agreement in March 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda to be among 49 other signatories.
