Africa is home to more women entrepreneurs than any other region in the world, a Global Entrepreneurship Monitoring report has revealed. According to the report, the continent accounted for 18 per cent of the global women entrepreneurs in 2016/17. The report said Latin America and the Caribbean had the second highest number at 17 per cent of all the women entrepreneurs in the world aged between 18-64. Europe and Central Asia had the lowest percentage of women entrepreneurs at 8 per cent, the report suggested. Kenya boasts of several top women entrepreneurs who have outclassed their male countersparts in various sectors.
