Share:ISLAMABAD - The Afghan government has appointed new diplomats for Pakistan replacing those who were posted in the previous regime at the main Afghan embassy in Islamabad and Afghan consulate in Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi. Diplomatic sources told The Nation that Afghan embassy and consulate have started their normal operations after getting fresh administrative and diplomatic staff. Senior Afghan diplomat from Afghan Foreign Ministry Ahmed Shakeeb would act as in-charge of affairs at Afghan embassy in Islamabad till the appointment of full regular ambassador. Hafiz Mohibullah has been appointed at Afghan consulate Peshawar, Gul Hasan Abu Muhammad has been appointed in Quetta and Abbas Khan Muhammad has been appointed in Karachi as consul general. When contacted, Foreign Office spokesman Asim Iftikhar Ahmed confirmed and said the Afghan embassy in Islamabad and three consulates in Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi have started their operations after a break of more than two months.
