Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghanaweb, he described as worrying, the rate at which perpetrators launch severe attacks on journalists without been dealt with. “It is interesting to know that in this year’s press freedom report, impunity was identified as the main factor for Ghana’s decline on the league table of free media systems. Irrespective of their political affiliations or social status, perpetrators of attacks against journalists must be arrested,” he stated. According to the GJA president, the inability to bring perpetrators to book creates an atmosphere to increase their activities.
