Before undergoing cutting-edge cerebral palsy surgery in the US, five-year-old Hugo Simmons was mainly confined to a wheelchair but now he's able to hold himself up while sitting and walk with assistance. Giggling, making faces and asking for lollies, Hugo Simmons is your typical 5-year-old - but just over a year ago it was a different story. Private therapy had cost Simmons just over $15,000 so far, but had been successful in improving Hugo's quality of life.
