The organisation, Adhunika, aims to help struggling women to be progressive and self-reliant. It was set up by Adhunika Foundation USA in 2003 with aview of bringing positive changes in Bangladeshi women’s lives through enriching their skills in IT and other necessary areas. SAJIDA Foundation has been managing the centre since April 2012 after an agreement with Adhunika Foundation USA. Scholarship is an important component of development in Bangladesh, Farah Kabir, country director of ActionAid Bangladesh, said. Lubna Marium, artistic director of Shadhona Cultural Circle, Zahida Fizza Kabir, executive director of SAJIDA Foundation, Mridul Chowdhury, CEO and founder of mPower Social Enterprises Limited and Tahmina Khanam, assistant professor of Department of Management of Dhaka University also attended the event.
