Like everything in our hyper-connected world, where information is a click away, getting the answers is easier than ever. Add in the COVID-19 pandemic and astronomical levels of stress and anxiety among college students and the problem of academic integrity is further amplified. The topic has been much on my mind, as I head a university and also serve on the board of directors for Chegg, a company highlighted in two recent articles on academic integrity. What is largely missing in the coverage on how students are cheating is the question of why students are cheating. I wanted to first understand how they were dealing with the question of academic integrity.
