It brings the total of discovered remains to 69 since excavations began in summer 2025A further 36 infant remains have been recovered from the site of the former Tuam Mother and Baby Institution in Co Galway, bringing the total of discovered remains to 69 since excavations began at the site . The latest update from the excavation site, issued by the Office of the Director of Authorised Intervention (ODAIT), covers the period from January 29 to March 31. The ODAIT explained that to date, all remains recovered from the area are of infants that were buried in coffins, which have since decayed.
