Photo: Associated PressAdvertising technology company Phunware Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies Inc. for breach of contract, claiming the ride-hailing company owes it almost $3.1 million. The suit comes a week after Uber sued its mobile ad agency Fetch Media Ltd. for breach of contract, fraud and negligence, among other allegations. Uber claimed that Fetch misrepresented the effectiveness of its mobile ads, failed to prevent ad fraud and didn’t return rebates owed to Uber. Phunware is one of the many mobile ad firms that Fetch hired to support Uber’s digital ad efforts. Phunware’s complaint alleges that Uber failed to pay Fetch for five invoices that were needed to then pay Phunware.
