Flowers were left outside the Odell S. Williams Now and Then African-American History Museum, whose founder, Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, was found dead in the trunk of a car Friday. Police are investigating and do not know the cause of the death, the Baton Rouge Police Department said in a statement Saturday. Sadie Roberts-Joseph was discovered dead in the trunk of a car Friday on North 20th Street in Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge museum spotlighted black history and hosted gatherings for holidays such as Memorial Day, Kwanzaa and Juneteenth. “We have to be educated about our history and other people’s history,” Roberts-Joseph told the Advocate in 2016.
