Activist demands quick local electionsSrisuwan Janya, right, submits a letter to the prime minister and cabinet via an official at the Prime Minister's Office, on Monday, calling for quick local elections. The secretary-general of the Association for the Protection of the Constitution said local elections were required by the Local Administrations Election Act of 2019. The government should not further delay local elections. He called for local elections in October. Mr Srisuwan said that in delaying local body elections the government might be wanting to maintain control over local administrative power.
