Haki Africa human rights officer Francis Auma said the officers should be prosecuted for failing to abide by the law. Human rights activists have now called upon the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to prosecute the 302 officers who failed to appear before the commission for vetting. NPSC on Thursday fired 302 police officers who refused to be vetted as part of the reforms introduced in the police force. NPSC chair Johnston Kavuludi said the decision to dismiss the officers was reached at a board meeting held at the commission's offices on Tuesday. He said the country has embarked on police reforms hence any officer hindering the process is an enemy to the country.
