The country is witnessing a gradual decline in both the number of active cases, as well as the fresh cases during the past two weeks, indicating that the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic was receding. For the first time in almost four months, Pakistan reported Covid-19 positivity rate below 4 percent on Sunday morning. The NCOC, which serves as the nerve centre of the government’s anti-Covid strategy, said that among the active cases, 4,267 patients were in critical care. A day earlier, the number of active coronavirus cases in Pakistan had gone under 60,000. The active cases had fallen consistently for more than a week with new recoveries surpassing fresh cases reported daily.
