more-inMembers of the Legislative Council sought stern measures to curtail illicit operations by private players which are cutting into the revenue of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation operated buses. Expressing concern over continuous losses to the RTC despite government bailing it out through financial assistance from time to time, TRS member Palla Rajeshwar Reddy during the Question Hour sought to know the steps taken by the government to improve RTC performance. However he said that ‘Palle Velugu’ operations were making losses though long distance services were doing well. The Minister said government was doing its best to control illicit operations however influential the operators might be and also proposing some other measures to revive financial position of the RTC. The losses of RTC had been coming down gradually since 2015-16 from ₹786 crore to ₹476 crore so far this year.
