I am writing this column on Acer’s new Swift 5 PC. The model I’m using – priced at $1,400 – is described as an ultra-light and slim notebook that’s “super portable and stylish” and weighs just 2.14 pounds. Compared to the somewhat similarly equipped Acer laptop I bought back in the fall of 2016, this one seems plenty faster. Acer equips the Swift 5 with its TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium sound technology, via stereo speakers. I really like the Acer machine I bought in the past, and now wish it was as fast and light as the Swift 5.
