BigstockAccording to the case statement, the accused published fake news about Habiganj-3 lawmaker Md Abu ZahirThree Habiganj journalists-- accused in a case filed under the Digital Security Act-- were sent to jail by a court on Sunday afternoon. The journalists are: Nuruzzaman Manik, Raihan Uddin Sumon, and Tarek Habib, respectively the executive editor, news editor, and chief reporter of local daily, Dainik Amar Habiganj. Previously on May 21, Sushanta Das Gupta, editor and publisher of Dainik Amar Habiganj, was sent to jail following a court order. Earlier, Habiganj Press Club General Secretary Sayeduzzaman Zahir filed a case against four of them at the Sadar police station. According to the case statement, the accused published fake news about Habiganj-3 lawmaker Md Abu Zahir on Dainik Amar Habiganj, and shared it on Facebook.
