Accused changes plea to guilty for committing indignity to a human body in murder trial of Natsumi Kogawa

VANCOUVER — In the trial for the murder of Natsumi Kogawa, the accused changed his plea Monday from not guilty to guilty for committing indignity to a human body. Warren had testified in court that the accused told him it was important to him that Kogawa’s body was found and that he intended to kill himself. Doyle told the jury to consider this: Kogawa may have died from heart arrhythmia or a seizure during her date with Schneider. “There is no question it is a terrible thing to have done,” he said, about Schneider’s decision to put Kogawa’s body in a suitcase. The accused chose not to testify during the trial but Doyle asked the jury to think about Schneider’s state of mind after Kogawa died.
