General News of Monday, 25 March 2019Source: starrfm.com.ghAccra not ready for heavy rains – MayorChief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Mohammed Adjei SowahThe Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Mohammed Adjei Sowah has disclosed that the capital will not be able to protect lives and property when the rainy season kicks in. According to Mr. Adjei Sowah, this is due to the fact that the Korle Lagoon is yet to be de-silted, making it choked and susceptible to overflowing. Speaking on the Morning Starr on Monday, Mr. Adjei Sowah said his outfit has reached out to the ministry of Works and Housing but is yet to get any response. The Accra Mayor also attributed the tidiness of Rwanda’s Kigali to the kind of governance system practiced in the country. According to him, the seeming authoritarian and autocratic rule practiced in the East African country makes it easy for state authorities to ensure order and absolute rule of law.
