Academic misconduct revealed

Photo: ODT filesSome cases of ''level two'' student academic misconduct - deemed to be intentional - were reported throughout the University of Otago's academic divisions last year. They were also required to undertake other academic work aimed at strengthening their grasp of academic integrity issues, university academic discipline reports released yesterday showed. This was one of four cases of level two academic misconduct reported in Otago health sciences last year. Eleven cases of ''level two'' academic misconduct were reported in humanities, mostly using plagiarised materials in internal assignments, and one case of a student being found with notes during an exam. Ten cases of level two misconduct were also reported in sciences, mostly involving plagiarism, or copying another student's work for internal assessment.
