The incident was reported from Monohardi around 2am Thursday, said Sub-Inspector Jinnat Ali Jinnah. The man was identified as 35-year-old Siddique Mia who was sentenced to 17 years in jail in a robbery case. They say they formed a mob after learning from a traveller that a robbery gang had taken up positions near the highway. SI Jinnat said Siddique was sentenced to 17 years in jail over a robbery case in 2009. Police have filed a murder case against unknown perpetrators over the incident.
