Reports have circulated about the imminent abolition of boarding primary schools in the near future. He argued almost all public primary schools in the country are day schools and the few boarding primary schools should not bother the government. Magoha said blanket abolition of boarding primary schools may not be smart. He said there are people working outside the country who have children in boarding primary schools. This is close to Sh17 billion for primary schools and Sh59.5 billion for secondary schools.
