NZ Breakers announce multi-year deals to bring back Tom Abercrombie, Shea Ili MARC HINTONSCOTT BARBOUR/GETTY IMAGES Tom Abercrombie will return to add to his 10 years already logged with the Breakers in the Australian NBL. The Kiwi Australian NBL club, officially without a head coach after parting ways with Paul Henare, on Thursday announced it had made the first two roster signings for for the 2018-19 season, bringing back Tall Blacks internationals Tom Abercrombie and Shea Ili on multi-year deals. Both were pretty straightforward decisions for the new US-based ownership cartel who have taken over the running of the club. Small forward Abercrombie had some major shooting struggles over the back end of the just completed season, which ended with elimination at the semifinal stage by Melbourne United. Ili said he was excited to be part of the club's new direction.
