For us young Somali-born athletes, he is our leader and I appreciate we have support from corporates like East Africa Bank helping build sports in this part of Africa,” said Abdi. This was the first time Farah had raced since winning the Antrim Coast half-marathon on 12 September in 2020. Sweden’s David Nilsson (64:06) and the Djiboutian duo of Jamal Dirieh (64:22) and Mouhyadin Abdi Waisss completed the top six. For the Djibouti race, Abdi said he was proud to be part of the East Africa Bank team, as the bank and Dahabshiil always put its customers first.
