Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, witnessed on Monday, the launch of the annual scientific conference of the General Authority for Hospitals and Educational Institutes, which is being held this year under the title “Emergency Medicine,” from January 22 to 23. Abdel Ghaffar noted the importance of having unified guidelines among all medical facilities in various parts of the country to deal with emergency cases so far, pointing to the role of the Egyptian Health Council in developing guidelines in this regard. He also referred to the Medical Liability Law, which will contribute to organizing problems that occur due to the lack of unified guidelines. He further reviewed the state’s plan to establish a medical city for hospitals and educational institutes. The city will include 18 educational medical institutes, with a capacity of 4,000 beds in one place, research centres, central laboratories, and hotels to attract medical tourism.
