Broken bottles, cracked computer screens and poo-covered pianos are the only reminders of what the Ngarua Memorial Hall used to be. She started a petition to get Ngarua Hall removed which received 600 signatures. Tom Lee/Stuff Ngarua Hall was once the hub of Matamata-Piako. Tom Lee/Stuff A smaller version of Ngarua Hall was built in 1908. In 1952 money was raised to expand the hall and turn it into a memorial hall.
