The Lake Region Economic Bloc has re-appointed Abala Wanga as its acting Chief Executive Officer barely a year after he resigned from the position. Wanga had resigned in August last year to take back his previous position as Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o's political adviser. But documents seen by the Star shows Wanga was re-appointed in a letter signed by Oparanya. “This letter serves to inform you that you have been re-appointed as the acting CEO of LREB. Already nine counties have ratified the Lake Region Economic Bloc Bill 2018 that allows the official adoption of the regional grouping by counties.
