"Aadhaar data protection will be a challenge for the government. The catch is that when one opens a bank account or applies for a phone connection, showing Aadhar card is not mandatory. Even as the government wants to keep Aadhaar essential to apply for passport, according to Aadhaar Act, it cannot be used as proof of citizenship. "Ofcourse there are loopholes in the current Aadhaar system.
