AXA Hong Kong said sales from infant to 9 years and 20-29 age groups increased significantly after launching Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme products, according to Alexander Chiu, medical director, health and employee benefits, AXA Hong Kong and Macau. He added Hongkongers prefer flexi VHIS plans than standard plans, and the number of flexi plans AXA sold were eight times the number of standard plans. More than one-third of respondents have been diagnosed with chronic diseases in which this proportion increased to over 50 in the 45-60 age group, according to a recent survey by AXA Hong Kong, comprising 1,000 Hongkongers. The insurer launched AXA Chronic Disease Management Program today, targeting diseases, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and gout. The participants can choose one of the four institutions, including CUHK Medical Clinic, Hong Kong Diabetes Specialist Centre, HKSH Medical Group and Virtus Medical Group.
