The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki Mahamat, described the death of Libyan Chief of Staff Mohammed Al-Haddad and his companions as a significant loss, not only for Libya but for the entire region. In a statement released on Thursday, the African Union said that Mahamat received the news of the tragic incident “with deep sorrow and grief.”The crash claimed the lives of Al-Haddad and four accompanying officers while they were returning from an official trip to Ankara. Mahamat also reaffirmed the AUCx support for the Libyan government and people during this difficult time and called for patience, strength, and peace for all affected families.
