Italian Andreas Seppi saved two match points in the second set and went on to outlast fifth-seeded Cristian Garin of Chile 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) on Monday to reach the second round of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. Seppi fought off the match points while serving down 6-5 in the second set. He failed to convert four match points of his own while trying to break at 6-5 in third set but finally prevailed on his second match point of the tiebreaker. European OpenFifth-seeded Guido Pella of Argentina advanced with a 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (2) victory over Germany’s Peter Gojowczyk in the first round in Antwerp, Belgium. Sixth-seeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who won this event in 2017, opened with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
