KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday adjourned the hearing against the former provincial Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza and 54 others accused in the same case. Mirza, along with 54 others, was indicted on charges of possessing illegal arms, making threatening statements against policemen and government officials and causing disturbance to the law and order subsequently. Earlier, Mirza was acquitted, under the Section 249-A of the Criminal Procedure Code, of ransacking charges in May 2015 when the prosecution failed to provide sufficient evidence against him. Zulfiqar Mirza has been a Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) stalwart. Mirza was disowned by PPP over breaking party discipline in 2015.
