He said the protest scheduled for Osun and Oyo states is aimed at drawing public attention to the lack of funding by governors of the two states. Esume said ASUU members from other branches and zones nationwide would join them in the protest. He expressed the hope about ASUU coming up with alternative action to support its members and students in the unfolding avoidable crisis in LAUTECH. ASUU members from the University of Benin, Benin City, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, and Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa attended the meeting. LAUTECH branch of the union had embarked on a two-week warning strike to draw the attention of government of Oyo and Osun states to the poor state and inadequate funding of the institution.
