An education champion based near Eye has told of her pride at being named in the New Year Honours list. Clare Flintoff, founder of ASSET Education Trust, will be made an OBE in recognition for her services to ensuring children have the best start in life. Clare, former headteacher at Ixworth Primary School and St Helen’s Primary School in Ipswich (both for seven years), also served for two years as an education advisor. Clare Flintoff, founder of ASSET Education will be given an OBE. Jacqueline Bircham, her successor, said Clare showed an unwavering commitment to improving the life chances of children across the county.
