ASHH Foundation partners donor agencies in Bauchi


Not fewer than 1000 women, particularly those living in the rural areas, are to be supported with loans to boost their small scale businesses as part of efforts geared towards promoting and protecting the rights of Women and Girls in Nigeria by a Bauchi based NGO, Attah Sisters Helping Hand Foundation (ASHH Foundation) which announced the commencement of a 5 Year Empowerment project in Bauchi State. While announcing the commencement of the project in Udubo community, Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs Comfort Attah, said that the 5 Years project is focusing on empowering the women, especially at the rural level, towards peacebuilding and livelihood skills that can enable the beneficiaries to be economically active and relevant in leadership and governance. The Executive Director of ASHH also disclosed that the project, with funding from Action Aid Nigeria through its Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria Project was being implemented by ASHH Foundation, which was fully supported by Global Affairs Canada. In a response on behalf of the community, Sarkin Udubo, Alhaji Aminu Muhammad Malami thanked the partners for selecting their communities, pledging their full support in the implementation of the project which he described as timely. The highlight of the occasion was the official announcement of the grant intervention by the Executive Director of ASHH Foundation amidst cheers from the targeted beneficiaries.
