As the National Convention Committee is set to announce details of its programme this week, sources in the party said key stakeholders had resolved to stand by Odigie-Oyegun in the contest for the party’s top job. A source said: “I can tell you that Chief John Odigie-Oyegun will return as chairman. The stakeholders have realised that the Bola Tinubu/Adams Oshiomhole plot to have him replaced cannot really be relied on to yield the desired results. “Besides, the structures of President Buhari and that of Senate President Bukola Saraki appear to agree on this choice. The two camps are of the view that the Odigie-Oyegun should remain to ensure peace and stability.”It was learnt that the national convention would hold in Abuja and that the convention committee is set to announce some details during the week.
