A Northern Virginia estate that was owned by the late AOL co-founder James V. Kimsey has sold for about $45 million, according to a person familiar with the deal. Although it listed for $62.95 million in May 2018, the sale is still the most expensive residential sale on record in the Washington , D.C., area, real estate veterans said. The prior record was a $43 million sale in 2018 for Merrywood, a nearby estate that was a childhood home of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
