Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said on Tuesday that she wouldn't attend President Trump's State of the Union address, indicating that doing so would legitimize what she saw as lawless conduct under his administration. "After much deliberation, I have decided that I will not use my presence at a state ceremony to normalize Trump’s lawless conduct & subversion of the Constitution," she tweeted on Tuesday afternoon. Consequently, I will not be attending the State of the Union." Ocasio-Cortez has been one of the most vocal advocates for President Trump's impeachment. Trump's State of the Union addresses previously faced boycott threats and this year's was no different.
