"According to Air Chief Marshal Raha, AN-32s were inducted into the IAF between 1984 and 1991. "An AN-32 aircraft of the IAF was on a scheduled courier sortie from Tambaram, Chennai to Port Blair. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, the Air Force chief said that the AN-32 is a dependable aircraft and capable aircrew are chosen to fly them. Several aircraft with surveillance equipment of the IAF, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard have been flying in the area. KOLKATA: All efforts are on to try and locate the missing AN-32 medium lift aircraft that went missing over the Bay of Bengal on Friday, Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said on Monday.
