Anyone looking for a bargain should pay attention to AMD's announcement of a major price cut of its flagship mainstream desktop processor - the Ryzen 7 1800X. The eight-core CPU, which began life at $499 in February 2017's launch of its Ryzen CPUs and Zen architecture, will cost just $309.99, just for today - the 7th March. This amounts to a $50 price drop to the CPU's price yesterday of $359.99 or just under 14% off. For example, the six-core Ryzen 5 1600X cost $230 at the end of January, but can now be had for just $206. My own personal favorite of the Ryzen line up, the Ryzen 5 1600, also a six-core CPU, cost $200 in January but now sits at just $189 There's also $15 off the Ryzen 5 1500X - AMD's fastest quad-core Ryzen CPU, which fell to $159.99 a few weeks ago too.
