AMD Announces Ryzen 5000 APUs: Zen 3, Up To Eight Cores With Radeon Graphics to Boost Budget Gaming

AMD has announced new Zen 3-based desktop APUs - the Ryzen 7 5700G and Ryzen 5 5600G AMDAMD's (NASDAQ: AMD) Dr Lisa Su took to the virtual Computex show's stage today to reveal the latest additions to its desktop computing line-up - the Ryzen 7 5700G and Ryzen 5 5600G, which both use AMD's Zen 3 architecture featured in its existing Ryzen 5000-series CPUs. Available in August, the new APUs (CPU's with integrated Radeon graphics) feature up to eight cores and 16 threads with the Ryzen 7 5700G sticking to a 65W TDP (the same as the Ryzen 5600X) and will include a Wraith Stealth cooler too. For now, the APUs will only be available as part of OEM systems, but there are plans to make them available to DIY PC builders later this year too. The APUs aren't quite as powerful as their CPU counterparts though - the Ryzen 5 5600G is certainly not boasting the same specifications as the Ryzen 5 5600X for example. I'll be covering other announcements from the virtual Computex event this week so follow me here on Forbes for the latest PC hardware news and reviews and don't forget to check me out on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook as well.
