Karaikudi police had registered a case against him, based on the complaint. Nazar Ali, who got married a few days ago, in his petition, denied the allegations made against him by Ms. Robina. The petitioner said Ms. Robina wanted him to compensate her for the losses. Ms. Robina had alleged that Ali promised to marry her and received ₹50 lakh from her. Karaikudi police registered a case against Ali under Sections 417 (cheating), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the IPC.
