New Delhi, April 7 (PTI): Air India on Friday revoked its flight ban on Shiv Sena lawmaker Ravindra Gaikwad with immediate effect, two weeks after he had assaulted an airline manager onboard a plane. Aviation sources said that with the AI revoking the ban, private airlines are likely to follow suit. ”I write to convey my regrets for the unfortunate incident that took place on 23rd March, 2017 in the Air India Flight No. Air India lifted the ban hours after it had thwarted yet another attempt in the last fortnight by Gaikwad to book a ticket. Gaikwad had assaulted an Air India employee and had boastfully claimed on national TV about having hit him with his slipper 25 times.
