He told reporters at a seminar yesterday titled "New Dimensions of Public Prosecutors" that the prosecution faces "a crisis of faith" as police and prosecutors have come under fire for their handling of the case. We may have to improve regulations to better accommodate the administration of justice," Mr Wongsakul said. The panel's report recommended Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha revive the case, as it found evidence of intervention by government officials, law enforcement agencies, public prosecutors, lawyers and witnesses. In principle, only when the police chief or governor disagrees with the petition will the attorney-general step in and make a final decision, Mr Wongsakul said.
