MONROVIA – The Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia (AFELL) has condemned the barbaric and inhumane act carried out against two young Liberian women in Sinoe County. The women were allegedly stripped naked and paraded along the streets of Greenville in Sinoe County by some unknown men. According to AFELL President Attorney Vivian Neal, news emanating from the county about the cruel action of the perpetrators was allegedly prompted by accusations of witchcraft levied against the women. Neal said the action taken against the women is a classic example of entrenched discrimination against women in the society. She said the incident however highlights the fact that mob justice is still being practiced in the society.
