With 48 teams splitted into 12 groups, the top 2 at the end of the two legged fixture in each group will secure a ticket for the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory coast. Group A: Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome e Principe or Mauritius. Group H: Ivory Coast (hosts), Zambia, Comoros, Lesotho. Group K: Morocco, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Liberia. However, Ivory coast, who will be the host country, will automatically qualify for the tournament whuch means only one country from group H will qualify along side Ivory coast.
