Nigeria’s national under-20 male football team on Tuesday were held to a goalless draw by the Amajitas of South Africa at the ongoing Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria had taken control of the pool with a 2-0 win over Burundi, while South Africa played out a 1-1 draw in their tournament opener with the —– host nation Niger on Saturday. Thus, a win for the Flying Eagles would have seen advance to the next round. Yahaya also tried a long range shot which however failed to trouble goalkeeper Kubheka as the Amajitas held on and ensured South Africa earned a hard-fought draw. Nigeria will face hosts Niger in their final group game on Friday, while South Africa battle Burundi also on Friday.
