WWE is sure to follow Vince McMahon's competitive spirit by counterprogramming AEW's second show. WarnerMedia has opted to extend AEW Dynamite through 2023 as part of a $45-million per-year deal that will see the billionaire-backed promotion launch a second show. AEW’s second show will be an embellished version of AEW Dark, which currently airs on AEW’s YouTube channel. The elephant in the room surrounding AEW’s decision to launch a second show is if—and, more accurately, when WWE will counterprogram its budding rival. Last July, WWE aired the EVOLVE 131 showcase on the WWE Network to go in direct competition against AEW Fight for the Fallen.
