ACC seeks expense records from Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Hospital


CollectedA letter signed by ACC Director Mir Mohammad Zainul Abedin Shibli was issued in this regard on SundayThe Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent a letter to the Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital director seeking records of the hospital’s bills and vouchers, among other documents, over allegations of irregularities and corruption. A letter signed by ACC Director Mir Mohammad Zainul Abedin Shibli was issued in this regard on Sunday. The director of the hospital, Dr Sarwar Ul Alam, has till September 10 to provide the documents that have been summoned, said ACC Public Relations Officer (Director) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya to Dhaka Tribune. The commission has also asked for the names and addresses of the hospital's suppliers, doctors, nurses, and staff members. Earlier, on August 9, the ACC had summoned several documents of the hospital to investigate reports of its authorities embezzling government funds committing various irregularities and corruption.
